It was a hot summers day that August when I packed up my truck and headed out to the local flea market. As I wandered around looking at all the different vendors, I noticed several puppies. I thought to myself how wonderful it would be to have a dog to go hunting with again. After talking with the vendor, and a quick trip to the bank machine, I was the proud owner of an adorable female German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, which I immediately named Jessie. Picking up my new little girl, we hopped in the truck and headed home.
It was not long before Jessie had settled in. I knew she was everything I could have hoped for and more when she saw the birds that frequented out back yard. Her intensity was amazing. Jessie was a true member of the family and went everywhere with us. She loved car rides & running through the fields. Her favorite pass time was chasing squirrels ands cats but her true love was being part of the family.
We spent the next five years having a great time together weather it was working, playing or relaxing. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. Jessie started showing signs of discomfort when getting up from laying down. Shortly after, I took her to many different vet clinics searching for the answers to her problem. Finally I found a clinic that could give me the answers I had searched for. Jessie suffered from weakness in both of her knees. If not treated, Jessie would continue to get worse. I spent the next week contemplating her situation and mine. When I went back to the clinic and talked with the vet, he offered to take Jessie and give her a home that would give her the care that she so greatly deserved.
We love you and we miss you. You will live in our memories forever…... |
